Why ARE you in this musical???

What are YOU doing here???

What do YOU wish to accomplish???


Just take this moment to ask yourself that question...

Did all sorts of answers come to ur head?

Are any of those reasons ones that push you to come for every meeting, practice every dance step, rehearse every line???

If so then congrats...you're one in a few...


And I think these is why the progress of the musical is really slow...Most of us dont have a good enough reason to be here...some of us dont know what we want out of this musical. Some of us are here cos we were told to be here...that is the most depressing answer guys...

WE are less than a hundred days away from SHOWTIME...Let emphasise the word...SHOWTIME!!!



Do you really think we have anything to show? Do you really think that people out there would want to see us...I wouldnt want to see us...

Press release is in a month...and it is a 4 minute song....4 minute song!

A four minute song takes no longer than 3 days to remember and another day to practise...6 days tops! 6 hours each day. I know I havent been here for a month...

but it seems like i havent missed much...

I'm not gonna apologize cos now's not the time for pleasantries...

I know it hurts...i hope it does cos maybe pouring acid on our hearts might make us get up and push harder than we are pushing now...

I can and will say this...If ur not serious abt the musical, then you shouldnt even be in it in the first place...But now that you're in it...pls dont f*** it up for the rest of us who have hopes and dreams for this musical and have invested half their life and grades and what not into the musical...

We cannot depend on someone else to motivate us and discipline us anymore...We have to start pouring gas into our own tanks now and not trust someone else to do it...

And i have to apologize to Saras...I am sorry i've been gone one month...And Im sorry you feel that we took the fun outta this musical for you. And its not just to you im apologizing...everyone else who's put in their sweat and blood for this to become a reality...

Depressing is the word for it...

Our musical is abt a girl who goes from depression to happiness...ironic that we are goin from happiness to depression.

We need to have a vision guys...we need to have a vision of where this musical is taking us...taking YOU!!!

Everyone one of us shld have a vision of what this musical is going to do to our lives...the friends we make...the family we became...The doors that we opened to opportunites...To brighter careers...

Am I wrong in saying this : whether you planned it or not...this musical has impacted every one of us positively...Isnt it time we did this musical some justice??

WE ARE SO CLOSE TO REALIZING OUR DREAMS...LETS NOT JEOPARDIZE IT NOW...

From outside that dance studio, or theatrette, we're just kids fooling around...

But from inside that room...we all have the power and potential to change the world...

WE have something that not many youths have...the chance to make our dreams a reality...


I know I have made some very crude remarks that some of you might find...unnecessary.


Call it what you want, Im not taking it back. I hope before this Sat, you all read it.

I've tried to be politically correct and kind and motivating in my previous posts...


Now im purposely being evil, vile and politcally f***ed up...I hope I angered most of you...I hope I pissed off most of you...Cos take that and times 3 and you know how much everyone else in the musical is feeling that you missed that one small little dance practise or that one small rehearsal...

This post wasn't meant to point out anyone...but if you feel guilty...then i've done what i set out to do...

When I started out, the time was 11 pm...now its 1 am...

Another 2 hours closer to showtime....Get my point...?

Yes....Got busy and did not update this blog but I'm back online so here's the updates for this coming rehearsal on the 3rd of January.

10am- 12pm: Act 2, Act 3
12pm- 3pm: 1) Misfits 1 minute
2) Prep Squad 1 minute
3pm- 5pm: Contemporary Dance

Please come with your scripts, your scenes memorised.

Also, please come prepared for a tough rehearsal. Less than 80 days left, less than 30 rehearsals left....

We've got to move people!

Rehearsals on the 6th of December

Hey all!

Right so this Saturday, we'll be doing quite a bit. Thank god we're getting the theaterette back!!!! Right then...what follows is the schedule of what will be taking place on Saturday so please take note. Thank you.

10pm- 12pm: Act 4 Scene 1, scene 2, scene 3 and scene 4
12pm- 12.30pm: Break
12.30pm- 2.30pm: Dance Rehearsals
- Misfits (For the Streets)
- Prep Squad (Hey Wannabes)
2.30pm- 3pm: Briefing for the following weekend and announcements

So please bring the proper attire for the rehearsals. We will not have Yoga, Deepa, Nerissa or Akhmad with us this Saturday. So we will have to make do. Please make sure you have read your lines and are ready for blocking.

Recording:
Yoga and Deepa you will be going in for sketch recording for the song: "You've got to" this Friday, 5th December at 4pm.

Praven, Idham and Issac, you will be going in for recording for the song meant for the scene Intro to misfits on Friday as well but at 7pm.

Parmes, you will be going in on the following Monday, 8 december for the sketch recording of "Hey Wannabes"

Dance Rehearsals On Weekdays:

Please take note that as mentioned before the weekday pratices on Monday and Thursday, 7pm to 9pm, are dedicated to the press release performances. So, on Monday, all those chosen by the dance team are to report then.

For Thursdays, it will be a mixture of the contemporary piece and the Song "Hey Wannabes".

Any questions please check with me on Saturday during rehearsals.

5th December It's My Life Musical:

Okay folks, I will be attending a musical this Friday at NUS cultural centre at 8pm. It is a production meant for teenagers and since it is a local production, it would be a good chance for us all to learn from others. So if anyone is interested, please give me a call: 90406977.

The ticket price for students is $25. Please do let me know as soon as possible, preferably by tomorrow, Thursday- 4th December.

11am- 1pm: Act 3
1pm- 3pm: Dance rehearsals for the 1 minute dances

Please take note of what is to happen and make sure you bring the appropriate attire. We will be having auditions as well for newcomers so please cooperate with Nathan who will be taking charge of the In Character games

Rehearsals this Saturday

A good day to all : )

Right so here's the rough schedule of the rehearsal this Saturday:

10am- 12pm: Scene Rehearsals-Act 1 Scene 2, Act 3 Scene 5, Act 4 Scene 1, Act 4 Scene 2, Act 4 Scene 3

12pm- 2pm: Dance Rehearsals

And we're Done! : )

As you can see, we have alot of scenes to cover this weekend so please be ON TIME! You know I cannot tolerate lateness and I myself will ensure I'm there on time. So no excuses there.

If you are unable to make it for the rehearsals, you should have already let me know earlier so there is no reason for anyone not to be able to make it. The only person who has let me know thus far that she cannot attend this one rehearsal is Shanty. Other than that I expect everyone to be there unless you have a valid excuse which you have to share with me early.

Now also take note that attire is extremely important so please bring the appropriate shoes and attire for dance. There will be fines as mentioned before.

This also brings me to the issue of some of you'll forgetting to bring you're scripts at time. Once again there is a fine that I will enforce if I see this happening again.

I would like to thank Lex for typing out the schedules for the past 2 weeks as my laptop is still under repair. Thank you Nathan! for lending me yours : ) Yup so I will be able to carry on with putting up the schedules by Wednesday.

Right...so I know I have not missed out anything...any questions, please ask me by either emailing me or calling k?

And guys Physical Training time is something not to be feared or hated. If you'll sincerely support each other and root for one another, you'll will have fun during the trainings despite the difficulty of the exercises the dance team puts forward.
