Judging Day On 1st Nov 08

Hey Minions! I have a few announcements.

First of all, I'm sure you guys are aware of rehearsals this saturday. It is from 10am to 3pm.
Scene rehearsal is from 10am to 12pm. Dance rehearsal is from 12pm to 3pm.

Secondly, it's judging day this Saturday, 1st Nov 08. What does it mean?

*takes a moment for cynical laughter* MUA HA HA HA HA HA!

Minions! This is what's gonna happen.

You guys are going to learn the last part of the press release routine for 1 hour. You guys will be judged in the next hour, meaning from 1pm to 2pm.

We are picking 3 guys and 5 girls to dance for press release.

Criteria - It doesn't matter if you can't remember the steps well. What we're looking for is attitude and passion.

Cool? I'm sure.

Ponkies! Please be on time. Not forgetting appropriate attire. Please and Thanks.

As for tutorial videos, we won't be putting them up yet. Not now.

Hey Minions! I have uploaded the videos for freakum dress and american boy. The tutorial will be uploaded either by this weekend or next week. The tutting video is official.

The 'Freakum dress & American Boy' video is unofficial. It's to show you guys what to expect this saturday. Choreography is subjected to changes. Think Larger than life

20 weeks have passed by ever since this production started on the 19th of March and look at how far we've all come.

Some of us may have never thought it possible that we would even be in this position. We constantly assume that what we already have is the best it's ever gonna get. But then something else comes along and we're reminded there's a world bigger than us and there's so much more we can do and achieve.

I believe that this is one of those things. So many opportunities lay open for you to grab yet many sit still not wanting to push beyond the effort they're showing. It's not about saying it but more of putting those words into action.

Just because you think you're not capable, doesn't mean the others around you feel the same way. Each and everyone of you needs to take a step back from your hectic schedule and your daily routines to simply reflect on where you're heading. Just a mere 5 minutes is more than enough for you to think about what you're doing.

Some of you'll may claim that you're perfectly happy with where you are, satisified with the way your life is being led but that's the problem...you're looking at the small picture. Do I have to remind you once again there's a whole world out there.

Some of you'll pretend that this is unimportant to you that you're doing a huge favour to me or the rest in the team by simply being present. You're wrong. You're doing a huge disservice to yourself if you think that. Each and everyone of us needs one another. If one falls, everyone falls.

Everything that you do or say reflects on yourself so everyone of you needs to think before you speak or act.

I truly treasure each and everyone of you in this company in the 'Arteen Furteens'. We have become family as Parmes has described very well. It would pain me to see anyone leave or get hurt. Each and everyone of our problems have become the team's problems.

Simply put, all the rambling I've done above is just to say that I want everyone to think beyond just themselves and consider the possibility that they're actually involved in something that may be more than they bargained for.

IT IS TIME

hey guys other than my own profile i have never updated anything else on to the blog so yes the time is now ripe for the GREAT PARMES to log in an entry.

is it just me or is everyone in the musical starting to feel like family huh?? all of us spent more time with each other than our own families. we have fun but at the same time we do try to acheive perfection and excellence in the pursuit of betterment for the musical. i sincerely believe that the journey that we have voluntarily taken part in will not only affect us on a short-term basis but impact our lives in a very personal way that it would be hard to erase the memories and the feel-good emotions.

CinderElla has become everyone's little baby. it has become a constant source of inspiration in life and has given us a goal to aim towards. one part of me badly wants it to come to an end so that we will be able to see the joy in people's eyes when we perform it in front of them. however another part is dreading the day the curtain finally closes and the last performance has been put up....

well all of us know where we are heading towards. i know for a fact that everyone is utterly committed to the cause now all we need is HARDWORK i suppose... lol so gear up people!!!

i shall go off by emphasising on the fact that the feeling of family is in the air whenever everyone meets up. now that is the feeling that will never have an end to.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!

Alright, here's what's in this post:
1) The rehearsal timetable for this Saturday
2) Information required from all CAST members
3) Information for CREW members

Okay, so here begins my rather lengthy post....

1) The Rehearsal Timetable for this Saturday
10am- 11am: Rehearsal for the drama on Sunday
11am- 12pm: The whole of Act 1 and Act 2 (Yes, all the scenes)
12pm- 12.15pm: Break
12.15pm- 2.15pm: Dance Rehearsals

Now guys, as you may have noticed, the whole of Act 1 and Act 2 will be rehearsed this coming Saturday so EVERYONE HAS TO BE THERE. I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY EXCUSES FOR THIS WEEKEND...UNLESS YOUR EXTREMELY ILL AND ARE HOSPITALISED. Seriously people, we need to run through this two acts thoroghly without ANY SINGLE PERSON MISSING. This has not been possible and I am tierd fof having to hear that one person can't make. Because if you don't realise, if one person can't come, the whole scene is affected and none of the other actors do their best. SO I WILL SEE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU THERE....

2) Information Required from All CAST Members
Okay peeps, I require each and everyone of you'll to come prepared to fill up a few forms:
- One requires you to let me know when are your exam periods up till March 21st and when you're holidays are.
- One requires you to fill up your personal particulars due to the fact that some of you'll have yet to fill it up
- One requires you to note down if you are free on Mondays and/or Thursdays from 6pm- 8pm
- One requires you to sign a form that states you are committing your time to the musical

There is a need to finalise all these data by this week so like I said....YOU HAVE TO TURN UP BECAUSE THERE IS ALOT TO BE GAINED AND ALOT TO BE LOST IF YOU FAIL TO ATTEND THIS PARTICUALR REHEARSAL.

3) Information for Crew Members
Okay folks there will be a meeting for the entire crew from all departments this Saturday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. I would expect the Director of every department to be present as well as two or more members from each department to be sitting in. So department directors take note, please ensure you have 2 or more members sitting in. This is to ensure that most or all know what workload awaits them.

Meeting will be held at the conference room.

4) Lady D's Heartfelt Words
It has been a sight to behold when I logged on to the blog to find so many posts. And all were meaningful to read. First of all, dear Spider thank you for summarising the words of your mentors so well. I am sure that all have been somewhat stirred by your words as I have definitely been. It is good to see that you'll are motivating each other.

Yoga is another example of someone who constantly tries to push his fellow castmates. Thank you for wanting to urge the rest to reach for the best. I am truly touched to see the cast taking active actions to grow and it warms my heart to see you'll wanting to work harder.

Your dance department consisting of Prasad, Lex and Andrew, work more than you think they do as they take time of their equally busy schedules to choreograph and perfect the routine for the press release dance. But here is where we think they're workload ends. There are 10 songs in the musical of which 9 need dances. So as you can see, your dance director, assistant dance director and manager have alot on their plate.

Your music department consisting of Minlong, Prabs, Chun Leng, Dex, Lex and many other people you have yet to meet or even hear of are working double time to get the songs done. The process is a long and tiring one yet this dynamic team is constantly on the move. We owe it to them to work hard.

Your Wardrobe department consisting of Ain and a team of ten that is still growing, are responsible for over 200 different attires. All the way from sketching to labelling to the system designed to managing the attires, this team has so much on their hands. With a fashion show they have to organise, I seriously bow down to them.

Your Stage Department consisting of Nathan, Kwan and a hell lot of other people are working very hard with the Technical Department (consisting of Wong and his team) to translate the entire script into a techinical script.

The CAST, all my wonderful and amzing actors, actresses and dancers are also the pride and joy of the muscial. The crew and I have watched you'll grow and develop and I must say we are proud of you'll! It is hard work memorising the lines on top of the way you have to stand, speak, move and sit. And it doesn't end here. You guys have to memorise over 5 different dances and the lines to the songs.

Each and everyone has an important role to play. There is a bigger picture so never focus on a small aspect. You are part of something big so make it worth the rest of the people's time.

I must say, I'm really happy that you guys are taking intiative. Thanks Isabelle, for motivating your fellow mates.

Once again, lemme remind you guys of the rules and regulations when you come for dance practice.

Inappropriate attire - $2
Inappropriate shoes - $2
Punctuality - 10 mins grace after which $1 for every minute

All of it will go to your chalet fund. Dance starts at 12pm. If your acting rehearsal eats up into the dance rehearsal, the same rules apply. We will start at 12:30pm in that circumstance.

Another thing. I told a few of you to let me know if your tired so that I won't go hard on you. I'm sorry but I take that back. Before you start hating on me, lemme tell you why.

People out there with pure passion, sacrifice their sleep and their social life for this musical.

Exhibit A - Lady D, your director

I don't care how tired you are, when your in the dance studio, your gonna give it your all. NO EXCUSES!

Excuses are pathways to being a failure.

C'mon minions! Keep your focus straight. Don't let it waver. It it does, we're gonna kick it back into place. Even then, we can't spoon feed you all the time. You gotta lift yourself up.
