Please start arriving by 6.30pm as all guests are to be seated by 7pm.
Dr Lim Wee Kiak will arrive at 7pm to present plaques to our patrons.
Our program will begin proper at 7.15pm.
Dance Floor will begin at 9.30pm.

If you would like to bring in one of your friends to the AFTs, you are able to do so as long as you inform me by smsing me at 90406977.

AFT AWARDS

Please Take Note.

a) Dates:

The AFT awards are going to be held real soon. The possible dates as of now are the 10th (Friday), 11th (Saturday) or 12th (Sunday) of April or anything thereafter.

The reason why we didn't hold it the week right after the musical is because every single one of us wanted to go down and support Anaz in his performance (Btw Anaz, you were really on fire : ) )

Also, the AFT awards cannot be held this week because of a few reasons...
1) The funding for this dinner is on hold due to the closure of the CC's financial year.
2) The closing of the musical's finances. It is important that Janise and I finish off the accounts for this first before opening up a new budget.
3) It is too much of a rush to have the event this week as it would be a haphazard job due to the trophies not having been printed yet and the awardees not decided upon.
4) The Chalet.

I understand from Andrew and Lex that some of you'll will be entering NS before 10 April. Please post at the tagboard if that's the case then we'll have to work something out.

If not, we'll stick to next week.

So, take a look at the poll on the right side of the blog's page and vote for the date that you prefer. This poll will only be open for two days so please vote as soon as possible.

They may seem like Godsent and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.

Through her Eyes

As i stepped back into the theater with yoga and nathan, i found myself a seat all the way behind, the last row near the control room,near nathan's and thana's fortress.

i looked at the stage,where people were clearing up the props and sets.

and i kept on looking.and looking.and slowly, my eyes closed, and my mind went back to july 2008.

i leaned back against the soft velvet chair and sighed.
memories begun to swirl around me.
for that moment i wasn't at RP.
i was at my first day.

i was taken back to the sembawang bus interchange,waiting for parms cause i had no idea where jelutong cc was.
as she and i walked to the cc, which i now just can't do without, i walked into the theatrette.there were only four of us - saras, praba, parms and me. that was the first time i met praba.
little did i know, how much emotions that theatrette would hold.

a while later saras gave me the script. i flipped the pages and came across the page that was titled "Act 2 Scene 3".
and i saw the two words that would change my life forever - Big Mama.
Leader of a crew of 8 strong individuals who dare to stand up for what they believe in.

Moments later, shanty and kesavan came.
A tall guy with white long sleeves and 3/4 pants walked in,wearing shades.(at that moment i did feel that the shades had to die but what the heck).
at the first thing he said,looking at me was "and who is this?", in the most Jet - like tone ever.
i got up,smiled, shook his hands and said "hey, i'm suady"
and he said " hey you, i'm yoga".

within minutes, we all were taking pictures of ourselves,making fun of one another, laughing and joking about.
my mind swirled again, i moved forward to a day, a month or two later.

i walked into the theatrette, and saras came running to me and said "Your first two misfits are here!!".
with a huge grin on my face, i ran in and saw them.they were both sitting on the stage, very quiet, and as i saw both of them, something inside me told me that i was going to love them with all my life.
and that they were not going to be any quiet*grinz*
i loved their style, their personality, their character instantly.
and there was something about her that was just so.....like me.
i did my lines with them, and that day,
Spider and Bling came to life.

My mind swirled,to the day i walked up to the dance studio where i first met Lex and Prasad.
Mustafa came in, and no one was more happier than me when i knew that Stink was him.
that day was the last day, where ny final 4 misfitz came in.
Worm,Mole and Oz.
Digger was late.haha.

and i finally had my whole crew.

i looked at them, and my mind started asking questions.
"would i be their leader, the one they would look up to, the one who would look after them like one of her own, would i inspire and lead them?"
i never had the answers.
we never bonded at first.there were so much problems.
it seemed impossible.
but all my heart told me was, "whatever happens, don't give up on them.cause they WILL become more than what they are today, and they are worth it".

i remember the day Saras sent the misfitz out of the theatrette cause we totally screwed up our scene.
that day, one other person walked out with us.
he spoke, and with every word, i felt our hope rise.
we were bursting with ideas, with so much energy.
he was our spark.
when we went in back there, we made a statement.
a standard was set.the misfitz united.
Saras saw the scene,turned to him and said "Good job Nathan".
He beamed with pride.
that was just the start.

Mind swirled again, to the hardcourt.
Physical training was the most straining ones ever.
when it finally ended, i cried.
yoga and isabelle squeezed me tight and cried with me.
that was the day the "Suagabelles" were born.

Flashes of the journey came in my mind.

The week where Yoga,Isabelle,Anaz and i would go down for press release practice before judgement day.
before that week, at the theatrette, a young man sat on the stage, with a white hoodie, staring into blank space.
they told me that he was going to be in the cast.
and i asked yoga, "can he dance?"
yoga stared back at me.
that's when i met the King of House.

i saw her groove, and i loved it.
little did nicole know that she would inspire me to want to do groove in the near future.
he pushed me on when i needed hope,
and andrew had no idea how much it helped.

another tall guy came into the musical before i left for South Africa.
i didn't think that he would turn crazy.
but Thana eventually did - and brought joy along with it.

he came in and gave us his opinion,
cause he knew we were capable of something much better than what we were doing.
and yes Collin,u were right.

she designed and made that dress,
the one i wore for my finale.she believed i would pull it off.
that gown made me look different,and brought out another side of me.
how would i ever thank Kanitha for that.

we came in as ordinary people.
and now, my misfitz are all dancers.
the star that moulded us and never lost faith in us.
Prasad - u have no idea.

she came to me and told me, "i'm doing a musical , do u want the role of Big Mama?"
i never knew the word "yes" would bring to where i am now.
saras, what would i have done without you.

my mind swirled yet again and stopped at a point.
i told yoga "i want to quit. i can't do this"
he spoke. i listened.
i never gave up after that.

i could go on about how much everyone has done something for me.i really could go on thinking.

i thought about all the things we all went through.
but the one that really hit me were my misfitz.

i saw them grow, mature and learn.
i saw them from the beginning till yesterday.
i saw the transition.

my eyes opened and i felt tears stinging my eyes.
i stared on right through at the stage where most of the props had already been cleared out.
through thick and thin, till the very end we had disagreements and all.
but we gave in, forgave and forgot.
all 7 of them came to my mind, and i told my heart - "u have never been more right before"

as i blinked and kept staring right ahead,my vision of the stage became clear.
my mind stopped swirling.
i had a smile.
and i beamed.

i could never be any more prouder than i am right now,misfitz.
i love you all so much.

to everyone in this musical.

i want to apologize if i had hurt anyone here.
and i want to say that i am so proud to be part of something as amazing as this.
every single one of you are awesome, and have touched me in one way or another.
and i want to thank u for that.
i will not say bye, because i believe that we are in control of what we end.
and we will not end this.

and yes.
we didn't beat any standards out there yesterday.
we set our own.

thank you,from the very bottom of my heart, for moulding me into someone stronger than she has ever been.
i love you all.very much.

Big Mama

The Last Curtain Call

By the time most of you read this, this experience would probably be over already.

But I just can't get onto that stage without coming back here again. I just have a lot of things I want to say...But as usual time works against us. But I woke up this morning with the aim of posting one last time in here before I go up onto that stage and perform for a crowd that has not seen what went into this production.

Its been a beautiful journey. It really has...I just cannot explain how much this means to me. To some, it means the world. This whole musical and all the memories associated with it give light to my world...

Sighs...

I'm looking at the timer...0 days 18 hours...I can't believe it really is happening. Show time seemed so far away once...But as always, all good things must come to an end.

I've made a great many friends, most of which I will never forget or lose touch with forever...I've seen people laugh...made them laugh...made some cry. But it's these people...you...that make me come for every practice.

People kept asking me why I keep turning up for practice when I have nothing on. For a simple reason...

I enjoy every moment of it...every single second I spend in that theatrette, in that dance studio...in that hall.

Memories so sweet their taste will always remain even after all these is over...even til my dying day.

And now that its nearly over, I just wanted to say sorry to anyone I've offended, to anyone I've pissed off.

Sorry to my choreographers and my director if i didn't listen or pay attention...Say sorry to my friends for being very moody for the past few days...The thought of leaving is too heart-wrenching.

AS I am saying this, my bag is packed for the last time...packed to the brim with things I will need for these next 3 days...I will never pack that bag again for another musical practice or rehearsal again.

Sighs...

It's been a beautiful journey...So for the next 60 hours...til the last curtain call, enjoy it. You will never get another chance.

When we do the final curtain call...The final round of applause...We will be backstage in tears, smiling, happy...sad. Just know that even thought this thing is over, our friendship will always remain...will always grow...

Yes darlings, this is the last Saturday and by the next Saturday, this will be all over....

Here's the schedule:

Report in by 9.30am. (9.45am latest)

2pm- 3pm: "You've Got To", "Brats", "Hey Wannabes", "Misfits Rap"

Alrght as you can see, just for this last Saturday, the scene rehearsals and the dance rehersals are slightly shifted. And if you take note, it is best that everyone stays on from morning till night. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for this Saturday will be catered.

Now as for the attire. Like I said bring a set of attire to wear after before you're interviewed. With regards to the dancers, your respective choreographers have already went out to buy the attires together with Kanitha.

Misfitz.

i want you all to know that throughout the entire time frame that i've known you guys, from the very minute i knew i was part of the misfitz till this very day, though i have yelled, screamed and shouted at u guys, i have never given up on us. never had, and never will.

yesterday, you all proved something.
and my heart sang when i felt it, cause i knew that this day will come.
AFTER ALL that we've been through.

misfitz.always remember, that what makes us unique is the very fact that we dare to be different and we are who we are. never ever doubt yourself for one split second. never.
and never place limitations on yourself. this goes out to everyone too.

yesterday, we did good. but its not the best.
i am not saying this to bring us down, but just remember that we are MORE than what we've become.
there are no limits to how well we can do it.

Ok guys,

Today's rehearsals were awesome.

I was deeply impressed by the level of professionalism that the cast brought today. I am deeply proud of you guys for your dedication and commitment.

My misfits. All of you guys were on fire today. After all the hard work we've put in you guys have finally seen for yourselves how talented you are. I am really proud of you guys. Please don't get all mushy on me with the whole "we couldn't have done it without you" crap guys. Today was 100% you! I've written a personal note for you guys on my own blog. Read it

The Prep Squad, i have to be honest, doesn't have the level of energy and life the Misfits have. Two reasons. Firstly, the MISFITS ARE CRAZY. Freakin insane. They are naturally loud and energetic. The Prep Squad is supposed to be more cultured and controlled. You guys have to have a certain air of pride and arrogance. However that DOES NOT mean that you guys are any less talented. Remember, YOU guys RULE the school. You have to make the audience understand that you guys are the best at what you do!

Secondly, you guys lack a level of chemistry amongst yourselves. Please try to gel together. I know its easier said then done, but you guys have to put in that extra effort. You guys are and will always be friends, not just acting partners.

I know we've split the Misfits and Prep Squads for separate focus rehearsal sessions. That, however, does not mean that you stick within your own groups. Please interact with one another and learn from each other. Feel free to ask any one of the CREW members for anything you may need. Misfits please approach Thana, Serena or Saras for opinions and advice anytime. Likewise for the Prep Squad, please approach Naathan if you ever need anything at all. I'll be delighted to lend a helping hand. This goes for you guys too, Fairy god parents!

Guys, we only have around 7 to 8 weeks before the big show. Motivate each other. All of you guys are doing insanely well. We have a press release around the corner. Help Prasad out by working with him on your dances. The dude's sacrificing much and he's working at 300% and its only fair you put in as much as well. I know its not easy, but if there's anyone who can do it, its you guys!

Good or bad, we're all in this together.
Work hard and we'll play harder.

Some Feedback from an insignificant person...

Okay...about today's rehearsal...

Astounding!

As in reli... You guys were on fire yesterday...

I've never seen 3 Acts perfromed so well in a row...and that is without any prompting ( okay fine there was a bit for my part...but that was unexpected...)

First the Misfits Review

I have to reli say the Misifts stunned everyone yesterday...You guys had awesome stage presence and energy...With the exception of some blocking problems, you guys were awesome.

You guys brought alot of action to the satge. You were doing other things that gave life to ur characters. But one thing i have to point out is tt we still can catch ur whispering amongst each other on stage, so u have to keep silent. Dont make unnecessary noises. Just remeber...watermelon.

But you guys still need to work on ur blocking and voice projection...We'll see how well you project your voices when we view the cds again.

Also, dont always form a semi circle or stand in a line...It looks unnatural, like you guys are acting instead of living ur characters.

Remember we edited the start of one scene where ur characters were practising? That was nice...It was very natural. Do something like that for most scenes and it will make the musical more believable.

Find a partner and feed off their energy. An example would be Isaac and Praveen, or Isabelle and Suadz...They have fun being around each other and so they bring that to the stage. Dont be afraid to take the good points in ur real life and apply them to ur characters...its YOUR character.

Another point, dont block each other. Sometimes u guys block the people standing behind you. You'll have to work on tis as you go on, but keep up this attitude and energy and you will be great!

The problem now is that we know what good actors u guys reli are...so u cant slack in rehearsals anymore... :D

But keep it up.

Review on Prep Squad

Prep squad i have to say that you guys didnt have as much energy as the Misfits but that's cos you guys have not bonded so close YET! But as time wears on, you'll start to bond, and when that happens, you'll fine urself having fun acting with each other.

Another reason why u guys didnt perform to the standards we know you're capable of was that u weren't so sure of ur lines...and some of u forgot some lines. That affected ur confidence. So take some time off every now and then and just recall ur lines.

If you're confident of ur lines, everything else will follow smoothly. Understand what happens in every scene and you will even start coming up with ur own lines that may be funnier or nastier...which is even better.

Another thing i noticed is that blocking needs some work as most of you guys are new...but you have to work that out with the acting coaches. A couple of weeks and we'll definitely see some improvement from you guys.

My Verdict

We still need work with some of our parts.

Energy Levels on Stage

But I have to say that overall, yesterday was truly inspiring. It was relly great to see that we are progressing very well. Once I have the videos converted, we shall review them together.

And I think these is why the progress of the musical is really slow...Most of us dont have a good enough reason to be here...some of us dont know what we want out of this musical. Some of us are here cos we were told to be here...that is the most depressing answer guys...

WE are less than a hundred days away from SHOWTIME...Let emphasise the word...SHOWTIME!!!

Do you really think we have anything to show? Do you really think that people out there would want to see us...I wouldnt want to see us...

Press release is in a month...and it is a 4 minute song....4 minute song!

A four minute song takes no longer than 3 days to remember and another day to practise...6 days tops! 6 hours each day. I know I havent been here for a month...

but it seems like i havent missed much...

I'm not gonna apologize cos now's not the time for pleasantries...

I know it hurts...i hope it does cos maybe pouring acid on our hearts might make us get up and push harder than we are pushing now...

I can and will say this...If ur not serious abt the musical, then you shouldnt even be in it in the first place...But now that you're in it...pls dont f*** it up for the rest of us who have hopes and dreams for this musical and have invested half their life and grades and what not into the musical...

We cannot depend on someone else to motivate us and discipline us anymore...We have to start pouring gas into our own tanks now and not trust someone else to do it...

And i have to apologize to Saras...I am sorry i've been gone one month...And Im sorry you feel that we took the fun outta this musical for you. And its not just to you im apologizing...everyone else who's put in their sweat and blood for this to become a reality...

Depressing is the word for it...

Our musical is abt a girl who goes from depression to happiness...ironic that we are goin from happiness to depression.

I've tried to be politically correct and kind and motivating in my previous posts...

Now im purposely being evil, vile and politcally f***ed up...I hope I angered most of you...I hope I pissed off most of you...Cos take that and times 3 and you know how much everyone else in the musical is feeling that you missed that one small little dance practise or that one small rehearsal...

This post wasn't meant to point out anyone...but if you feel guilty...then i've done what i set out to do...

Hey all!

Right so this Saturday, we'll be doing quite a bit. Thank god we're getting the theaterette back!!!! Right then...what follows is the schedule of what will be taking place on Saturday so please take note. Thank you.

10pm- 12pm: Act 4 Scene 1, scene 2, scene 3 and scene 4
12pm- 12.30pm: Break
12.30pm- 2.30pm: Dance Rehearsals
- Misfits (For the Streets)
- Prep Squad (Hey Wannabes)
2.30pm- 3pm: Briefing for the following weekend and announcements

So please bring the proper attire for the rehearsals. We will not have Yoga, Deepa, Nerissa or Akhmad with us this Saturday. So we will have to make do. Please make sure you have read your lines and are ready for blocking.

Okay folks, I will be attending a musical this Friday at NUS cultural centre at 8pm. It is a production meant for teenagers and since it is a local production, it would be a good chance for us all to learn from others. So if anyone is interested, please give me a call: 90406977.

Rehearsals this Saturday

Right so here's the rough schedule of the rehearsal this Saturday:

10am- 12pm: Scene Rehearsals-Act 1 Scene 2, Act 3 Scene 5, Act 4 Scene 1, Act 4 Scene 2, Act 4 Scene 3

12pm- 2pm: Dance Rehearsals

And we're Done! : )

As you can see, we have alot of scenes to cover this weekend so please be ON TIME! You know I cannot tolerate lateness and I myself will ensure I'm there on time. So no excuses there.

If you are unable to make it for the rehearsals, you should have already let me know earlier so there is no reason for anyone not to be able to make it. The only person who has let me know thus far that she cannot attend this one rehearsal is Shanty. Other than that I expect everyone to be there unless you have a valid excuse which you have to share with me early.

Now also take note that attire is extremely important so please bring the appropriate shoes and attire for dance. There will be fines as mentioned before.

This also brings me to the issue of some of you'll forgetting to bring you're scripts at time. Once again there is a fine that I will enforce if I see this happening again.

I would like to thank Lex for typing out the schedules for the past 2 weeks as my laptop is still under repair. Thank you Nathan! for lending me yours : ) Yup so I will be able to carry on with putting up the schedules by Wednesday.

Right...so I know I have not missed out anything...any questions, please ask me by either emailing me or calling k?

And guys Physical Training time is something not to be feared or hated. If you'll sincerely support each other and root for one another, you'll will have fun during the trainings despite the difficulty of the exercises the dance team puts forward.

i have NEVER been part of anything as exciting as this before.
AND guess what?
it all started out with someone's dream.
now its becoming a reality.

as i read the previous blog entries,i figured, most of what i had wanted to say has already been mentioned.

as cast members,
which include my FABULOUS misfitz,FUNKY fairygodparents,FANTASTIC prep squad
i feel that change begins with each and everyone of us.

OUR crew's hardwork pays off through us.
and we cannot afford to let them down at ANY cost.
they work so hard choreographing, creating, inventing,directing,designing and SO MANY MORE things,
i often stop to wonder.
seriously, who would put in that much effort?

only those who have the PASSION for it,will.
and they do.
so do we.

that's why, we're IN it.

if i go that extra mile and practice a bit more, learn my lines a bit more, push myself a bit more,i know can do my thing better.
imagine if everyone does that.
the effect will be PHENOMENAL.

if we are truly a family, then a family sticks together, NO MATTER WHAT.
don't know a step?we'll do it together.over and over again.until we get it.
can't get the line?we'll memorise it together.until we understand the flow.
step by step. lets perfect it.
absorb the positive attitude.and get going.
there's no turning back.

everytime we get tired of blocking scenes,feel our calves burning, feel the pressure,think.
its a committment, and we're in it together.
if we give up, we let down a whole bunch of people.
we cannot allow that to happen.

we are much more than what we have become.
and its time to push the limit.
get out of our comfort zone,and make this happen.

this is one musical,NO ONE's gonna forget in a long time to come.
cause we will BRING THE HOUSE DOWN,
and ROCK THE STAGE.

as i believe VERY strongly,
that as far as we look out for one another,
help each other,
support each other and stick together as a team,
both cast and crew hand in hand as a family

NO ONE,will be able to touch us or bring us down.

Hey Minions! I have a few announcements.

First of all, I'm sure you guys are aware of rehearsals this saturday. It is from 10am to 3pm.
Scene rehearsal is from 10am to 12pm. Dance rehearsal is from 12pm to 3pm.

Secondly, it's judging day this Saturday, 1st Nov 08. What does it mean?

Think Larger than life

20 weeks have passed by ever since this production started on the 19th of March and look at how far we've all come.

Some of us may have never thought it possible that we would even be in this position. We constantly assume that what we already have is the best it's ever gonna get. But then something else comes along and we're reminded there's a world bigger than us and there's so much more we can do and achieve.

I believe that this is one of those things. So many opportunities lay open for you to grab yet many sit still not wanting to push beyond the effort they're showing. It's not about saying it but more of putting those words into action.

Just because you think you're not capable, doesn't mean the others around you feel the same way. Each and everyone of you needs to take a step back from your hectic schedule and your daily routines to simply reflect on where you're heading. Just a mere 5 minutes is more than enough for you to think about what you're doing.

Some of you'll may claim that you're perfectly happy with where you are, satisified with the way your life is being led but that's the problem...you're looking at the small picture. Do I have to remind you once again there's a whole world out there.

Some of you'll pretend that this is unimportant to you that you're doing a huge favour to me or the rest in the team by simply being present. You're wrong. You're doing a huge disservice to yourself if you think that. Each and everyone of us needs one another. If one falls, everyone falls.

Everything that you do or say reflects on yourself so everyone of you needs to think before you speak or act.

I truly treasure each and everyone of you in this company in the 'Arteen Furteens'. We have become family as Parmes has described very well. It would pain me to see anyone leave or get hurt. Each and everyone of our problems have become the team's problems.

Simply put, all the rambling I've done above is just to say that I want everyone to think beyond just themselves and consider the possibility that they're actually involved in something that may be more than they bargained for.

hey guys other than my own profile i have never updated anything else on to the blog so yes the time is now ripe for the GREAT PARMES to log in an entry.

is it just me or is everyone in the musical starting to feel like family huh?? all of us spent more time with each other than our own families. we have fun but at the same time we do try to acheive perfection and excellence in the pursuit of betterment for the musical. i sincerely believe that the journey that we have voluntarily taken part in will not only affect us on a short-term basis but impact our lives in a very personal way that it would be hard to erase the memories and the feel-good emotions.

CinderElla has become everyone's little baby. it has become a constant source of inspiration in life and has given us a goal to aim towards. one part of me badly wants it to come to an end so that we will be able to see the joy in people's eyes when we perform it in front of them. however another part is dreading the day the curtain finally closes and the last performance has been put up....

well all of us know where we are heading towards. i know for a fact that everyone is utterly committed to the cause now all we need is HARDWORK i suppose... lol so gear up people!!!

i shall go off by emphasising on the fact that the feeling of family is in the air whenever everyone meets up. now that is the feeling that will never have an end to.

Alright, here's what's in this post:

Okay, so here begins my rather lengthy post....

1) The Rehearsal Timetable for this Saturday
10am- 11am: Rehearsal for the drama on Sunday
11am- 12pm: The whole of Act 1 and Act 2 (Yes, all the scenes)
12pm- 12.15pm: Break
12.15pm- 2.15pm: Dance Rehearsals

Now guys, as you may have noticed, the whole of Act 1 and Act 2 will be rehearsed this coming Saturday so EVERYONE HAS TO BE THERE. I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY EXCUSES FOR THIS WEEKEND...UNLESS YOUR EXTREMELY ILL AND ARE HOSPITALISED. Seriously people, we need to run through this two acts thoroghly without ANY SINGLE PERSON MISSING. This has not been possible and I am tierd fof having to hear that one person can't make. Because if you don't realise, if one person can't come, the whole scene is affected and none of the other actors do their best. SO I WILL SEE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU THERE....

2) Information Required from All CAST Members
Okay peeps, I require each and everyone of you'll to come prepared to fill up a few forms:
- One requires you to let me know when are your exam periods up till March 21st and when you're holidays are.
- One requires you to fill up your personal particulars due to the fact that some of you'll have yet to fill it up
- One requires you to note down if you are free on Mondays and/or Thursdays from 6pm- 8pm
- One requires you to sign a form that states you are committing your time to the musical

There is a need to finalise all these data by this week so like I said....YOU HAVE TO TURN UP BECAUSE THERE IS ALOT TO BE GAINED AND ALOT TO BE LOST IF YOU FAIL TO ATTEND THIS PARTICUALR REHEARSAL.

3) Information for Crew Members
Okay folks there will be a meeting for the entire crew from all departments this Saturday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. I would expect the Director of every department to be present as well as two or more members from each department to be sitting in. So department directors take note, please ensure you have 2 or more members sitting in. This is to ensure that most or all know what workload awaits them.

Meeting will be held at the conference room.

4) Lady D's Heartfelt Words
It has been a sight to behold when I logged on to the blog to find so many posts. And all were meaningful to read. First of all, dear Spider thank you for summarising the words of your mentors so well. I am sure that all have been somewhat stirred by your words as I have definitely been. It is good to see that you'll are motivating each other.

Yoga is another example of someone who constantly tries to push his fellow castmates. Thank you for wanting to urge the rest to reach for the best. I am truly touched to see the cast taking active actions to grow and it warms my heart to see you'll wanting to work harder.

Your dance department consisting of Prasad, Lex and Andrew, work more than you think they do as they take time of their equally busy schedules to choreograph and perfect the routine for the press release dance. But here is where we think they're workload ends. There are 10 songs in the musical of which 9 need dances. So as you can see, your dance director, assistant dance director and manager have alot on their plate.

Your music department consisting of Minlong, Prabs, Chun Leng, Dex, Lex and many other people you have yet to meet or even hear of are working double time to get the songs done. The process is a long and tiring one yet this dynamic team is constantly on the move. We owe it to them to work hard.

Your Wardrobe department consisting of Ain and a team of ten that is still growing, are responsible for over 200 different attires. All the way from sketching to labelling to the system designed to managing the attires, this team has so much on their hands. With a fashion show they have to organise, I seriously bow down to them.

Your Stage Department consisting of Nathan, Kwan and a hell lot of other people are working very hard with the Technical Department (consisting of Wong and his team) to translate the entire script into a techinical script.

The CAST, all my wonderful and amzing actors, actresses and dancers are also the pride and joy of the muscial. The crew and I have watched you'll grow and develop and I must say we are proud of you'll! It is hard work memorising the lines on top of the way you have to stand, speak, move and sit. And it doesn't end here. You guys have to memorise over 5 different dances and the lines to the songs.

Each and everyone has an important role to play. There is a bigger picture so never focus on a small aspect. You are part of something big so make it worth the rest of the people's time.

Once again, lemme remind you guys of the rules and regulations when you come for dance practice.

Inappropriate attire - $2
Inappropriate shoes - $2
Punctuality - 10 mins grace after which $1 for every minute

All of it will go to your chalet fund. Dance starts at 12pm. If your acting rehearsal eats up into the dance rehearsal, the same rules apply. We will start at 12:30pm in that circumstance.

Another thing. I told a few of you to let me know if your tired so that I won't go hard on you. I'm sorry but I take that back. Before you start hating on me, lemme tell you why.

People out there with pure passion, sacrifice their sleep and their social life for this musical.

Random Nonsense

Hey guys!

I just read Spider's post and I have to agree 101%. Our musical's coming to life and if we want to make it a big hit (Its obviously gonna be a hit) we have to really focus hard on it.

And I have just found that on top of putting up a great show, we also have to compete with ANOTHER CINDERELLA MUSICAL DURING THE LATE JAN AND EARLY FEB PERIOD. i think you guys know the implications this will have on our musical. We'll discuss this some other time, but keep this in mind. Ok?

Some of the things we CAN do to improve are...

If we have any free time during school or while we're at home, we can read and memorize our lines, or practise our dance choreo. This way, when we come in for rehearsals, we are prepared and things can move along fairly well. If we are having any trouble with the dance choreo, call anyone of the others up and just ask if they can meet you and teach you the step. We will be more than willing to help.

To make things easier for our directors and dance instructors, we should implement a roster or appoint people among the cast to contact the others and ask if they are coming for rehearsals the next day.

The reason being that some of us forget to inform Saras that we are not coming and those that do turn up, find that they are one woman/man short and we have some trouble finding replacements.

Another thing that Nathan told us that day, (and i seem to fail at this terribly) is that we as actors should sit and watch our friends perform so that we can give tips and help them out. It's not just doing your own scene and then going off to do what you want. After we finish our scene, we can watch the next scene, or practise our lines for an upcoming scene.

We should also start recording our scenes and posting it up for us to see. This way, we can see where we go wrong and what we can do to improve. There is nothing better than looking at yourself perform and learning from it. Anyone own a camcorder?

And Saras. Could you post up the contact list for the cast? Im sorry about this but I'm having a hard time digging up the emails and numbers of the anti-littering cast to send the script. Sorry again!

Im sure if we follow this tips, we can get the work done efficiently while having fun too. :D

Hey Guys,
I haven't been tagging posting anything much lately, but i sure am following the blog. Its nice to see that our little talk yesterday got through to you guys. Hahaha. SpiDer thanks for being such a sweetheart by stepping forward to motivate your fellow actors and dancers. What Spider said previously is entirely true. We are all in this together guys. There is too much effort being put in by both the cast and crew for this. This musical is OUR baby. Always remember that.

When Lex, Andrew and I spoke to you guys about your level of descipline, i could see that you guys could feel the difficulties that we were facing. We need your support and dedication to work with guys. I know that means you have to sacrifice more time and effort, but like what Spider said, we're a family that means we suffer together the same way we enjoy together.

Lady D is woking her butt off for you guys, she may not show it outwardly, but do understand that she's focused on this production 24/7 ( the girl needs a life) constantly making sure that you guys get the most out of what you're doing. So are your Dance Instructors and music/vocal instructors. Lex and Andrew sweat WITH you guys during every rehersal, going over the steps again and again and again. Prasad's taking time off the fastlane to come down and help you guys anyway he can. Vinleon is balancing the music department's job with his NS duties. So are all the other departments. You guys have to respect that about them. The one and ONLY way you can show your gratitude is to put in 150% of your spirit into this production. You guys are extreamly talented and more super crazy! You guys have been the best and most fun people i've ever had to work with.. and i mean EVER!

I may not be able to come down for rehersals for some time from now due to my stupid NS training. Thats the reason i'm typing up this almost-emo entry.

Have fun guys, and look out for each other.
Feel free to call any of the senior crew members if you ever need help or advice in anything... including me.

hey guyz... today's rehearsal was alot of fun... i'm sure we learnt ALOT... yet i'm sure we as a crew gotta do sumthin abt wat nathan[stage manager], lex and andrew[choreographers] said at the end of the rehearsal... personally i felt the need to change ourselves, let it be abt the discipline matter, the passion for dance, etc, i think its time that we reflect on ourselves and take time to think abt the effort that our director and her team, the choreographers, music team and the rest of them are putting in... of course we do wanna look good when we are performing right?? well then we jolly well gotta do somethin abt it... okay guyz.. if u don think the changing of attitude isn't gonna help you in anyway, then at least do it for our director and the rest who are puttin in so much effort... i'm not tryin to be bossy or take charge here... i juz want all of us to move on as a TEAM... as said, we are very slow in catchin up... simple things like dance attire, scripts, punctuality, positive attitude, etc... we can do this without havin any1 tellin us... i'm nt pointing fingers at any1[even i 2gether wif ma bro were late 2day]... so yea... lets do thiz ppl... Hey Ya'll! Lex Cryz in the house.

I would like to start off by saying, I am very happy & honoured to be your dance director along with Flow. You guys are awesome. Thanks Lady D for blessing me with this gift.

I hope to not only teach you guys as much as I can, but I want to learn from you guys as well. So if you have something in mind that you wanna incorporate into the routine, please voice it out.

What I taught you guys last saturday, was just a snippet of it. We have to double the speed of the routine. Don't get comfortable now cause we still got a long way to go.

I don't want anyone of you to feel intimidated. The way I teach you guys is totally different from Flow's style. I help you build your foundations slowly, while he takes it up a notch. Like Flow said, you guys gotta practice and make it your own. Bring out your own style and persona. Express yourself honestly. Once you start to hold back and hesitate, that's when you start to fail. And none of us are failures neither do we want to be. Aight!

As for the videos, we have yet to film it. I'm sorry guys but please give us a couple more days. We will break it down step by step. Please be patient yo.

Okay so first of all I would like to thank Lex for posting up information on what you can expect during your dance rehearsals next week ( : She has also taken time to post some tips to improve your vocals so please do take note of them and act upon them k?

Where are they GOING!?!
So moving on, yes, I am packing my bags and so is Ella aka Shanty, Damien aka Farhan, your stage Manager aka Nathan and your assistant music director aka Prabs! lol we're just taking the weekend of and will be back on Monday before 8am. So any questions you have, please just post them here on the blog and Lex will attempt to assist you as much as she can or I will answer them once I get back.

Rehearsals AGAIN!?!
Alright then, returning to the rehearsals, we will be having rehearsals next weekend, Saturday, 27th September 2008, from 10am to 2pm.

10am to 12pm: Dance Rehearsal
12pm- 2pm: - Discussion of short skit and other possible dramas
- One on one with the Director

Yeah so as you can see we're focusing on dance next week okay? So no scene rehearsals then. Instead, there will be discussion and ideas being thrown about.

What the Ponk is One on One with the Director!?!
Ahem! Basically, it is a short session where I'll be talking to you'll personally. After that, the dance directors will also be providing feedback on your performance for that day. So please do think of anything you would like to bring up with me as this already a third of our journey.

Why is there a COUNTDOWN!?!
Muahahaha to push you'll ofcourse. Can you believe there's only 181 days left!?! Not much time huh and it's not as though we meet everyday so you'll can see how little time we are left to work with. So push hard on your own and dedicate your time to this musical.

But what about my othe COMMITMENTS!?!
I'm not asking anyone to sacrifice studies and what not for this ( : That would just be plain evil...hehe all I'm asking is that each and everyone of us make sure that we stay through till the end as this is all of our baby project so let's nurse it and make sure it's successful K?

Vocal Tips

Hey Ya'll. Lex in the house.

Lady D is probably packing her stuff for her trip to Genting. She will be leaving tomorrow morning and will be back on Sunday.

As you all know, you guys have to sing for the musical. Duh, it's a musical. Here are some vocal tips from yours truly.

Drink plenty of water EVERYDAY! You have to keep your throat moist.
Do vocal and breathing exercises for at least 30 minutes EVERYDAY!
Refrain from shouting/screaming/squealing.
Stay away from spicy food, tomatoes, durians, ice-cream, carbonated drinks, fried food.
Drink fruit juices.
Don't try to imitate someone else, bring out your own voice and style. There is a huge bold difference between biting and being inspired.

I believe that everyone can sing. The thing that sets people apart is the quality of the voice and the confidence.

10 seconds you waste on brooding over your insecurity, is 10 seconds lost to gaining confidence and experience in what you love doing.

It's because you ponkies view this blog almost everyday, leave comments and tags, but don't take time to update the blog. Even a short post can brighten her day. Yes, she is that desperate for someone to post on this blog. HAH!

Cast & Crew, your welcome to post anything you want. If you just got your butt tattooed, post a picture of it. Even if everyone else is disgusted by it, at least your directer and I will appreciate it. Woot!

Ok from this point onwards, I am going to refer to your director, Saras, as Lady D.

Lady D has decided to enforce a rule on everyone involved in this musical. From now on, vulgarities are banned during rehearsals and practices. The only word you are allowed to use is...................

I know. It sounds stupid. But we gotta think of the innocent kids.

Ponkey is a combination of a Pig and Donkey. So if anyone behaves like such, tell them to shut the ponk up and ponk off. Easy? I'm sure.

For all of you who are having your exams, all the best yo. Do us proud.

On a serious note.

We're going hardcore on you guys once your exams are over, so GEAR UP! Don't think you guys can relax. The fun cum torture has just begun. *evil laughter*

LISTEN UP CAST! *Booming voice*

We will be having dance practice next week saturday (27/09/08) after your Acting rehearsal from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.

1) EVERYONE OF YOU have to be in proper attire. No slippers nor sandals. No skirts. And no, you can't dance barefooted. I want to see EVERYONE in proper sneakers or shoes.

2) We are appointing only 10 people to dance for the press release. 6 girls and 4 guys.

3) Everyone of you have to learn the choreography for the press release in January.

4) Criterias to dance at the press release:
a) A positive attitude
b) Seriousness in learning the choreography
c) Less talk, more action

5) We will be judging based on these criterias.

Yes, this is to instill discipline in you guys. There is a place and time for everything. There is a place and time to have fun and there's also a place and time to be serious.

It doesn't matter how well you can dance, I want to see that passion and fire.

And before you give excuses like 'I can't dance' or 'I'm too shy', think of how many people you have to perform infront of on that actual day itself. SO NO EXUCSES!

Guys & girls, I don't care how shy you are, this is a chance for you to express yourself. If your going to scream just because you make a mistake while dancing, your chance for the press release will be slimmer. Pick yourself up from where you fell. This is showmanship.

Get ready ponkies, the game hast just begun.

Our journey so far....

Alright so I think it's about time all of us (cast and crew), start posting our thoughts of the rehearsals and the journey so far. Being the person who apparently has the most time on her hands lol, I shall go first ( :

We're already a third along our journey to producing this musical and so much as happened. I would never have thought that I'd be working with some of you'll and I definitely did not think that I would make some great friends from this.

Can you believe that all of us are from different institutions, of different ages and of different backgrounds. There are Our age range stretches from 15 to 20 and the age range will be expanding as soon as the secondary school students join us. We'll soon be a team of 8 year olds to 20 lol!

Some of us are from Canberra Secondary School, Sembawang Sec Sch, some from YJC, Singapore Polytechnic, TJC, NYP, Raffles music school, NUS, Canberra Primary, Sembawang Primary, MI and there's a few more that I know I'm missing out ( : Ah yes! The guys in NS hahahaha and oh ofcourse!!! Laselle students and our resident brilliant CHEF!

Furthermore, we're all taking different courses!!!! Some science students, some art students, real estate management, Navy (is that what you call it Ain???), politics, media and communications, design, music....(and so much more....sorry guys short term memory...can't remember everything lol)

Yeah so as you can see, we're quite a mismatched bunch of people...one is even an alien (you know who you are hehe)

Anyways, we've got only 5 more months to go people!!! So much to do...actors have got dance rehearsals and vocal practices on top of their drama rehearsals. But I have to give a round of applause to some of our actors who really opened up and pushed their boundaries! I was amazed at how much you guys were willing to try new things. So very proud of you'll k?

The crew......hahahahahahahaha so much work peeps! lol we've got alot on our hands and considering how half of our team are made up of NS guys....sigh lol But the time I've spent with you'll has shown me that you guys are capabale and I trust in you'll. We will pull through this and I know that we're gonna produce a kick ass musical!

Yes there was some message going around that the photoshoot was cancelled because one of our cast is unable to make it on that day but the photographer will not be free for awhile so we will be carrying on with this Saturday's photoshoot. So please remember what attires you're supposed to wear, what colours and such...

Swathy, please post on the blog the colours that each misfit chose so that no one forgets what was decided that day.

Also, please bring along attires suitable for a photoshoot. This will be very important so dress well. If you would like me to check if it is appropriate, send me a picture of it so that I can let you know if you might need to change. Furthermore, PLEASE for heavens sake look good...females....wear make up....males....don't you DARE come in all sweaty...I WILL KICK your butts.

This will not be the first and last photoshoot you will be doing, there are plenty more that will be coming up. So take this as your first practice and DRESS WELL!

As for the rehearsals, same rules apply, DON'T BE LATE. I do not tolerate latecomers.

And as most of you'll know by now, I do NOT tolerate people losing their scripts. So, if you have lost yours, do NOT expect me to reprint another one for you. Email me to let me know if you have misplaced your script so that we can work something out. If your reason is valid, then we may reprint one for you. HOWEVER, if your reason is not valid, you will have to pay $5 for another script....(originally it was $2 but one of you said that was sooooooooo cheap. So $5 it is : )

PS: All those who said they want a script, please email me. This way, I can save your email addresses and send them to you'll. Yes Yoga, Swathy and Isabelle, please email me @ ancientoriant@yahoo.com.sg

As soon as you do so, I will send you the FINAL ACT OF THE SCRIPT.

First of all, please take note of which group you're in.

Group A: Cast playing the Misfits, Fairy Godparents and Ella are to report at 10am and the rehearsals for you guys will last up till 2pm.

Group B: Cast playing the Stepsisters, Stepmother, Matt, Prep Squad please report at 12pm and rehearsals for you'll will end at 2pm as well.

(Take note: Remaining Act of the Script will be given on Saturday. If you are going to be late which I hope you will not be, let me know 3 days in advance. For example, if you arrive at 10.15am, do not interrupt the rehearsals by joining us in the theaterette. You may join the cast at 10.45am when they switch to vocal practices.
The same applies for crew members. If you would like to attend the rehearsals, please come at the stipulated timings so as to avoid distractions for the actors.

Once again, the venue will be the threaterette at the Canberra Community Centre.

Dancers from the ICE group, you will be provided a dance Studio for you'll to choreograph a segment of a dance that the actors have been tasked to perform. So please arrive on time as well. Ok Guys.

This is a serious post.

We are starting our rehearsals, but there are unresolved issues.

We have not filled up some roles, especially the major roles. E.g Eric, Misfits
We have very little in way of crew members. And it is advisable to not double up as cast and crew members. Let cast remain the cast, and the same for the crew.
Instead of getting 1 big crew, seperate them into 2 smaller crews. Easier to manage. And not everyone has to turn up for practise. Also, each cast member must have an area of expertise. If he is lights, he stays lights. Period.
We need to flesh out the characters...And that is each actor's job. Try and research abit on what your character might act like. If you're a bimbo, look at chick flicks like Mean Girls. If you are a Misfit, look at movies like 'Stomp the Yard', 'You got Served'. Try to create an entirely new person within you. SplitPersonality.

This are some of the unresolved issues we have. I just wanted to point them out.

We can send out ads to sec schs and polys, saying we are looking for actors btw the ages of 13-20 for a refreshingly new musical.

This are minor issues though. We can fix it, but it is advisable to do it ASAP. Thats all. Thanks.

As most of you'll know, the Wednesday rehearsal was cancelled. Also, this coming Saturday's rehearsal (tmr) is pushed to Sunday.

Meaning, I expect to see all actors on Sunday at 10am.

However, the misfits group only needs to come in at 11am.

I lead the perfect life and everyone wants to be me.

It's the truth, isn't it? Cars, Credit Cards, Movie Premieres, Spa and Country Club memberships, I've got it all. I know Eric hates it when I act all snobby and such, but as much as I love the fella, I think I have earned the right to do so.

It isn't easy hanging around with the popular kids, contrary to what many of you peasants think. Our skin has to be flawless, our hair dandruff-free, and our outfits not worn more than once. Yes, it's hard work, but it pays, as the entire student body admires and adores us. Well, except for Eric, and that new girl Ella, along with her group of lame friends.

Eric's a nice guy, I've known him for a long time - since we traded lunches in pre-school, to be exact - and simply do not understand his infatuation with Ella. I mean, Bianca's step-sister?
If Rhiana's any indication to go by ... I'd rather spend a whole day without make-up than be caught dead with that loser Ella. That sweater she wore the other day? Hideous.

Sometimes I wonder though, why we have to adorn ourseves in the latest fashion, own the sweestest rides, and wear the most expensive accessories to be considered cool. Eric doesn't, but he's still popular ...
And sometimes, when my chauffeur drives past the places where Eric and I used to frequent as kids, a deep sense of nostalgia comes over me, a longing for the old days where everything was so much simpler.

But we're no longer kids, and I cannot see why Eric still clings onto the naive child-like belief that everyone is equal in society.

Image is everythng, and he'll lose that pretty soon if he doesn't stop hanging out with Ella and her posse. I do understand that Bianca can be a major annoyance, but still it's societal suicide to hang out with the misfits.

They are the outcasts of our school for a reason, and even the mathletes and the goths don't wanna hang out with them.

I would love to discuss more about the complexities of being popular, but I have a tight schedule to follow. Manicurist appointment at 3, spa session at 5, and shopping with Bianca at 7 ...

As I said, it's hard work being popular.

OK off- hand production checklists..

Props.

We'll be needing props surely. I would suggest we detail a list of props and accessories that we'll be needing on stage. Saras knowing you, you'd have mostly everything in mind but not so much on paper. We have time so we can still relax, chill and think of what we want and need with us on stage.

Points to note:

+ We have a few polar scene locations se we need to detail exactly what we need that might be specific to a scene. Examples and the furniture in Ella's home and the surroundings of the school scenes esp. the canteen.

+ There's gonna be dancing so thats a No to props that are toooooo elaborate. Minimal is the key. then there's the whole "are we gonna use wood, metal or plastic?" question. so yeah. ..

+ It will be cheaper if we can out-source material and design props ourselves. Storage isn't a problem, i've talked to Mdm O at the CC. She said she'll hook us up with a place for storage.

So there you have it. Props is not THAT big of a deal now, but that dosen't mean we leave it to the last minute. Other issues to be highlighted are the costume, design, make-up and manpower . I'm guessing that Saras has some ideas in mind for all these, so i'm just here to remind.

i love the colours purple and gold... Do not be bimbotic like my stupid sister rhiana and start screaming 'pink' at the mention of favourite colours...I'M WARNING YOU RIGHT NOW!!!!

And of cos by now i should tell you that the one person that i hate the most in the world is that klutz ELLA. she thinks she is soooooooo hot..... ahhhhh she's sooooo not .... she thinks she can compete with me ...muahhahahaha (every villain has to have a evil laughter) i mean nobody can compete with the great me!!!!!!!

Speaking of competition that ELLA is trying to steal MY ERIC!!!!!!!!(OH THE HORROR) ERIC is the only person i love (i love myself more of course!!!!) i'm going to make sure that the dim-wit does not put her filthy paws on my ERIC ..... school is going to get interesting for the lonely ELLA...muhahahaha

And don't worry you poor people who lack the fashion sense to pull BIANCA off i'll give you some fashion tips:

1) A good pair of shades goes a long way (but if you don't have beautiful cheekbones like me you will end up looking like a bug or an alien....so judge for yourself... not everybody can be me)

2) Always be bold to try on bold colours (of course you need to have perfect fashion sense to pull colours off... so if you don't have it like i do quit trying)

This way we can communicate with one another more freely as compared to posting entry by entry. Its more efficient this way. Plus having a tagboard kinda makes it easier for people on the outside to contact us. There's also a new notice board announcing the auditions if you have noticed. Ella here..Like finally i have found some time to blog .It's so difficult to find time for myself with people like my step mother and stepsisters around(They dun even let me be in peace for a second). They are always giving me chores do to and making me run errands for them.Enough about them, even thinking about them makes me wanna puke.

Something Struck Me... and it wasn't Deepa...

Ok. From the title u obviously know it's JET talking here.

I was just thinking about the play, when I realized something. I don't know if you guys thought of this or what.

If you remember the traditional Cinderella story, it goes like this:

1. She is depressed.

2. Fairy godmother helps her

3. She goes to a ball

4. She dances with the Prince

5. She needs to get back home on time

6. She 'loses' something (Glass Slipper)

7. Prince finds it and uses it to look for her

8. Finds her and Marries her.

Now...to the obvious problem.

Other than the fact that Ella gets Eric, and she is depressed, the other elements have not appeared in the story. Of course, the acts are still not finished, but I felt it was better to say this earlier before its too late...Just in case.

My Idea:

After meeting Bling and the rest, they start to practise for this big party (I think we discussed this...OMG! Am i retarded? Dont answer) They crash the 'party night' and impress everyone. Ella catches everyone's eye, especially Eric's. She has a signature move that wins impresses everyone and ticks off Bianca (Sorry Shanty... looks like you have to create signature moves!) But its going to be late so she leaves asap... She's wearing a mask so no one knows who she is... Then Eric decides to find out who she is... He looks for her all over the school. Meanwhile, Bianca or wateva decides to pose as the mysterious dancer to attract Eric. She succeeds, although Eric is somewhat unconvinced that she is the mysterious dancer (But wouldnt Bianca be at the Ball with Eric?? Maybe Rihana or someone else. ). One day, he finds her practising in the basement or wateva... He confronts her. She tells him for being a 'preppy-goody-two-shoes' . He retaliates by challenging her to a dance off rite there and then, where he NEARLY defeats her. He then invites her to dinner (maybe a bet they had) where he proceeds to tell her that he has been secretly practising hip hop for years but was too controlled to show it. There is a big prom night coming and they decide to crash it to show the sch that hip hop is also a respectable art form. They start pratising...meanwhile Bianca plots to seperate Eric and Ella, who have been seeing each other a lot although they are not dating. On the big night, Ella's stepmom, under orders from her daughter, ground Ella. As she is sitting in her room crying, her god parents arrive to tell her that (blah blah! add emotional speech here) She leaves to find her crew who are lazing around their hangout, then she rushes off to the prom night where a final showdown btw Bianca and Ella's crew ensue! Bianca uses Ella's signature move and when it seems all hope is lost, Ella performs some crazy stunt that wins them the best crew award or wateva.

Notice that my idea includes elements from Cinderella story, Step up 2, Stomp the yard and some other films. Not original...I know.

And also, the fairy godparents don't appear often so find a way to put them in. Maybe the fairies disguise themselves as humans so that they can mingle with ella and her crew.

This is a 1 1/2 hr play so I guess this should be long enough.

Nick: JET a.k.a PIMP DADDY

AGE: 68, 523 years old

Current area of Residence: Brooklyn, New York

JET is a crazy character. He’s very nature is explosive. He’s been around for a longtime, like the other fairies, and he has seen all the fashion trends, but for some reason he seems to love the 80s retro fashion trends and slang. He thinks he’s a ladies’ man and a smooth character, when in fact he is quite depressed over Pixie leaving him.

He has a habit of yelling ‘YOW-ZA!!!’ whenever he meets someone. He often dances on the spot…partly to impress Pixie. He pokes fun at Pixie and others, but when anyone is in trouble, he is the first to jump in and help. He wears a bright yellow suit and a cap with a feather in it (we can go look for such an outfit in costume stores or make it) and he carries a gold, glittery cane. His favorite colors are gold, purple and yellow and he loves to wear ‘pimpish’ outfits.

He’s dance moves were legendary. While dancing once in a club back in the 70s, he was so smooth and slick that one man in the crowd was inspired to make a story out of it. This was what led to the creation of ‘Saturday Night Fever’…(I can dream can’t I..) but ever since Pixie left him, his dancing techniques have become quite rusty.

He has lived in America for the past 45 years and has been influenced heavily by the Retro culture, so now he dresses and talks like a pimp…One reason why Pixie left him was because he was clubbing too much…and he tried to make her thin once using magic…Didn’t go so well.

His relationship with Ella is very unique and funny. While Athena is the loving motherly type of figure to Ella, JET is the bombastic uncle who sets the house on fire and teaches the kids how to smoke weed! He tries to help Ella’s situation, but with hilarious and at often times, awkward and embarrassing results.

He might not be a smooth character, but he is definitely one of the most explosive and craziest among them all!

Jet here again. I remade the logo and i thought I had the perfect Logo...but when I save it, the quality becomes really crappy. SO what u see...hopefully for now....is a really crappy quality logo. Once sch starts again, I'll get mi teacher's help and see if I can fix the problem. But for now....this is it!

Aite, in response to JET's question, people will be taking up dual roles so we don't really need so many. Howver, we will be getting students from schools to take up the DRESSERS, backstage CREW, Carpenters and prop crew positions. It will be CIP for them. (Hope that answers the question)

Also, the script is ready. will be printing and binding it for you guys. Will give it to you'll at the next meeting k?

Anyways, thanks for using my logo. I still haven't completed it and I'll try to find a way to bring the name 'Cinder Ella' into it.

Another thing is...do we really need 70+ ppl? Cos I was counting your list of crew. We are recruiting crew members, not an army!!! o.0

Hey all, as you can see on the right side, there is a new logo design! This was crafted by Yoga aka JET. Feel free to post your comments on the logo! Also, since Yoga incorporated the letters 'C' and 'E' into the logo, we're going to stick to CinderElla. (We're running out of time folks!)

Now that we have a logo, we'll be going ahead to print our posters! Just to remind everyone, auditions for the dancers, actors and singers will be on the 13th(Friday) and 14th(Saturday) of June.
